Photo Essay

I took my nephews to a museum in Louisville, Kentucky. It was so interesting to see how they absorbed all the information. The museum begins with a beautiful mirror.

Jack Burnette, age 3, looks at himself in the reflection in the mirror at the beginning of the Louisville Science Center.
Sam, age 2, cannot seem to take his attention away from the wonders at the museum.

Watching kids work and figure thing out on their own is really interesting and amusing at the same time!

Illustrations

In this picture I used Photoshop and laid two photos on top of each other. Then, I played with the opacity levels to give the illusion of movement.

For this effect, I cut out the skyline and played with the original color levels and saturation levels and the reapplied the blue sky. It looks a little bit like cotton candy but generally I like it!

Downtown

Although hundreds walk by this building everyday, this building has remained run down, decrepit, and condemned for years.

Many have autographed the dusty, unwashed windows.

Despite the lack of activity, the door is cracked open, which makes one wonder if there has been somebody inside recently.

The overgrowth of plants and vegetation add to the overall deserted feeling of this empty house.

Deteriorating roof in the home adds to the emptiness.
